The Ultimate OBX Beach Bash. This fall wedding at The Grande Ritz Palm Beach Estate may not have taken place in the 412 but still was full of Pittsburgh charm and personal touches. Guest were invited to celebrate on the quiet and private beaches of Duck in OBX. The couple was inspired to plan a beach wedding by family memories of vacationing in the area. Sherri and Jamie also shared a love for all things fall so the October 15th date just seemed too perfect to pass. We were a little nervous about the ten-month window to plan a full destination wedding but we were determined to pull it off altogether.
THE PREP: The preparation was extremely detailed and we really had to do our homework on finding the perfect OBX professionals that would fit Sherri’s style and personality. We accompanied the bride and the mother of the bride at the OBX January wedding show. Prior to the show we interviewed and narrowed down the potential vendor list. We set up personal appointments so that Sherri would not be overwhelmed and would have time to personally chat with all of them during the wedding show. We contracted her vendors on-site, it was an incredible opportunity to meet each professional face-to-face and make personal connections.
THE CELEBRATION: The celebration lasted all night long as family and friends completely took over Duck NC renting out multiple houses in the area. Once Go Go Gadjet started playing on top of the sundeck there was not a guest found in their seat. Guest danced around the pool as the band delivered their famous “power hour”.
The weekend was also full of fun PERSONAL TOUCHES. Sherri and Jamie were married by Jamie’s uncle Tom who personalize the ceremony truly expressing their value of family. Their beloved cocker spaniel, Jack was even present in the sand while they tied the knot and even stuck around for a few adorable photo ops. The mother of the bride handcrafted sand dollars as escort cards. Sherri and Jamie’s love of boating was reflected in the nautical theme selfie station and the guest tables were named after boat names found at the newlyweds hometown marina. Sherri and her mom even took the time to bake and decorate their traditional holiday cut out cookies (beach themed of course), which were probably displayed on their Pittsburgh cookie table. Guest were invited to write their wedding advice in a large message in the bottle. The celebration continued throughout the week with family and friends as Sherri and Jamie invited their love ones to stay with them in this 11,000 sq feet, luxury waterfront estate fully equipped with a home theater, gourmet kitchen, gentleman’s sports bar, sauna and pool.
Poppy events was honored to be a part of this couple’s special day and wish them a lifetime of champagne and fireworks!!!
