This January we had the pleasure of celebrating one of our own. Miss Chris is getting married! Because she is so chic and also courageous for getting married in the winter months of Pittsburgh Pa, she opted for a pure, winter white bridal shower. Our friendors did not disappoint!

The Planning

The event was held at the atrium of the Fox Chapel Golf Club, just outside of downtown Pittsburgh. I have to acknowledge the army of women involved in planning this event; Mother and Sister of the Groom, Chris’s mom, sister, best friend, and yours truly added more than enough inspiration to get the shower planning off the ground and running. We had a great time and all managed to keep our heads in the game without being at each other’s throats.

The Details

Winter White was all Chris had asked for. Well, OK, she asked for a few other things.  The venue speaks for itself since the shower was held on a sunny afternoon and provided us with a ton of natural light. Sapphire and Lace dressed the tables with delicate blooms of white hydrangeas, roses, and greenery. These paired especially well with the ivory crush linens from Lendable Linens and the custom drape, constructed and installed ourselves. Since Chris is a huge fan of macarons, we worked with Frosted Envy to come up with the adorable, not to mention delicious, winter white cupcakes topped with mini vanilla macarons from Jean-Marc Chatellier French Bakery.  Our Maid of Honor was gracious enough to put together the favors; chocolate dipped pears. Guests sipped on pear bellinis, in addition to all the goods at the coffee bar. Since the venue came equipped with a grand piano, I couldn’t help but ask my mom, pianist extraordinaire, to provide background music during our event. PS I do rent her out. 😉

POPPY TIP: Not only did the color scheme of the event present for a simple and relaxing event, it allowed all of us to stay focused. Less is more! Don’t get caught up on all the fluff, especially if you have chosen a venue that has done all the decor work for you.

We had a great time honoring Chris, at the same time creating friendships in support of her through our community of family, new family, friends, and vendors. Thanks, Chris! We can’t wait til the wedding!

Love, K.
